TRENDS is participating for the fifth consecutive year in the 57th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, presenting more than 400 publications alongside a comprehensive program of research and knowledge events. The fair, under the slogan “Whoever stops reading for an hour… falls centuries behind,” is being held from January 21 to February 3 at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center in Cairo.
The 2026 edition of the exhibition, considered one of the largest cultural and knowledge forums in the Middle East, is hosting the participation of more than 1,457 Arab and international publishing houses from 83 countries. This broad participation contributes to a rich and diverse range of scientific, intellectual, literary, cultural, and knowledge-based publications.
The TRENDS office in Egypt is contributing to the 57th edition of the exhibition with an extensive program of research and knowledge events, including seminars, dialogue sessions, and creative initiatives. TRENDS is presenting more than 400 academic, research, and knowledge publications, ranging from original works to translations into more than 16 languages. These publications include integrated series as well as economic, political, technological, and geopolitical studies that address regional and international issues in international security, political Islam, artificial intelligence, advanced technology, climate change, environmental studies, and health.
Events and Initiatives
The program of events includes a high-level seminar entitled “Between Innovation and Developmental Impact: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Accelerating the Development Agenda,” jointly organized by TRENDS Research & Advisory and the Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Cabinet. The program also features a seminar – Cultural Production in the Digital Age: Content Abundance and the Challenges of Creativity – organized in partnership with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The program also includes a seminar entitled “Sustainable Water Security from the Perspective of Modern Media: Between Challenges and Community Awareness,” organized in cooperation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport. In addition, the program includes the launch of a creative initiative in partnership with the same academy, represented by the Arab Youth Media Creativity Summit.
Supporting Culture and Creativity
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, stated that the center’s participation in the Cairo International Book Fair for the fifth consecutive year falls within the framework of its knowledge-based mission. This mission aims to support the cultural, intellectual, and creative landscape at both regional and international levels, while also promoting community culture through scientific publications, research, and qualitative studies produced by the center to evaluate and analyze global events and developments.
Dr. Al-Ali emphasized that the Cairo International Book Fair, organized by the Egyptian General Book Authority, is one of the most prominent book fairs worldwide. He described it as a prestigious global platform that brings together writers, thinkers, academics, publishers, authors, and readers under one roof, thereby supporting intellectual exchange, enhancing knowledge convergence, and encouraging the public to read, conduct research, and acquire knowledge.
He also pointed out that TRENDS’ participation reflects its keenness to maintain an active presence in leading cultural forums and embodies its global strategy to promote the dissemination and expansion of scientific and research knowledge across regional and international platforms, particularly book fairs. He highlighted their vital role in bringing people closer together and building bridges of communication and human interaction.
Promoting Community Culture
Rawdha Al-Marzooqi, Researcher and Director of the Distribution and Exhibitions Department at TRENDS, explained that the organization is keen to participate regularly in the Cairo International Book Fair due to the significant importance of this cultural and intellectual event in supporting knowledge and promoting community culture. She noted that the fair offers broad opportunities to exchange ideas and visions for the future of the publishing and distribution sector, which positively contribute to the growth of the cultural and knowledge landscape at both regional and international levels.

For his part, Zayed Al Dhaheri, Head of Distribution at TRENDS, affirmed that the center’s regular participation in the Cairo International Book Fair aims to enrich the intellectual and research landscape by presenting more than 400 publications across multiple fields and specializations. He noted that this reflects the breadth and diversity of the center’s research output and its contribution to enriching both Arab and international libraries.
He added that the participation also includes a rich cultural and intellectual program of seminars, lectures, and in-depth discussion sessions focusing on sustainable water security, cultural production in the digital age, and the role of artificial intelligence in accelerating development agendas.

Hazza Al Hammadi, Head of Exhibitions at TRENDS Distribution and Exhibitions, explained that the Cairo International Book Fair represents a pivotal cultural and creative platform for supporting knowledge and scientific research.
