A cooperation agreement was signed between TRENDS Research and Advisory and the Governance and Policy Think Tank (GPTT), affiliated with Sharif University of Technology, Iran. The agreement aims to strengthen the partnership between the two sides in research and scientific fields, enabling them to exchange knowledge and expertise in training and sustainable development. It also focuses on constructive collaboration in joint scientific publications, developing specialized research in governance, public policy and advanced technology and conducting joint research projects and opinion polls.
The agreement was signed on behalf of TRENDS by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of the Center, and on behalf of GPTT by Dr. Morteza Zamanian, Board Member and Senior Advisor at GPTT. The signing took place on the sidelines of the First TRENDS BRICS Think Tanks Summit, held on the sidelines of the 2024 BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia.
Joint Scientific Research
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, emphasized that the cooperation agreement with GPTT seeks to achieve several strategic objectives, including promoting collaboration in publishing joint scientific research and organizing training programs, workshops and seminars aimed at improving researchers’ skills in governance and public policy, which contributes to preparing a new generation of young, qualified research talents. He added that the agreement also aims for sustainable collaboration in conducting research surveys and polls on governance and policy issues to enhance the mutual understanding of the political and social landscape at both the regional and international levels.
Analyzing Contemporary Issues
The CEO of TRENDS explained that both sides are determined to implement a series of joint research projects and organize a series of conferences, seminars and panel discussions focused on analyzing contemporary issues and crises and forecasting their future and providing precise scientific solutions to address those challenges and mitigate their negative impacts.
He pointed out that the world’s ongoing and rapidly evolving crises and issues require further joint analysis and research to predict their future paths and build deep scientific insights that benefit decision-makers, experts and interested parties. He expressed his hope that cooperation with GPTT would open new horizons that will enrich global scientific research.
Effective and Sustainable Partnership
Dr. Morteza Zamanian, Board Member and Senior Advisor at GPTT, affiliated with Sharif University of Technology, Iran, stated that the agreement marks an important step toward building an effective and sustainable partnership between GPTT and TRENDS. Both sides would work towards achieving outstanding research accomplishments that enhance the quality of research outputs and deep strategic studies, while also improving governance effectiveness on both regional and international levels. Zamanian noted that the agreement paves the way for organizing a series of intellectual conferences, scientific seminars, panel discussions and joint workshops that will bring together researchers, experts and specialists from both sides to discuss current issues, exchange ideas and find suitable scientific solutions. He praised the global research efforts of TRENDS, which has become a trusted scientific authority for researchers, academics and experts due to its robust and accurate research output. Zamanian expressed confidence that cooperation with TRENDS will positively impact the exchange of expertise and knowledge outputs between the two centers, thanks to the valuable and constructive research content they both produce.
