TRENDS Starts its Participation in the World Government Summit 2025, Emphasizing the Role of Research, Training, and Governance in Youth Empowerment and Future Development

TRENDS Research & Advisory started its participation in the World Government Summit 2025, held in Dubai under the theme “Shaping Future Governments,” by highlighting the importance of research, training, and governance in youth empowerment and future development.

As a contributing member, the TRENDS research delegation, led by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, engaged in dialogue sessions with ministers, officials, and experts to explore ways to strengthen youth participation in sustainable development and prepare them for global transformations. Discussions also focused on the critical role of research in governance and future foresight.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali emphasized that the youth represent a vast human resource, stressing the need to invest in their potential through education, training, and research.  He underscored the importance of skill development to align with global advancements and ensure their active participation in shaping the future.

On the sidelines of the summit, TRENDS’ delegation engaged in high-level discussions with government officials and well-known personalities to explore collaboration in research and youth empowerment. These officials and personalities included: H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Vice-Chair of the World Governments Summit Organization; H.E. Zaki Nusseibeh, Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University; H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; H.E. Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary General of the UAE Cabinet; H.E. Rawan Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain; H.E. Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis); H.E. Homaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO of Mubadala; H.E. Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States; and Nora Al-Matrooshi, Emirati Astronaut. During these discussions, there was a shared emphasis on governance, youth empowerment, and future-building, with recognition of the UAE’s leadership as a global model in investing in youth and utilizing AI and technological advancements to drive knowledge development.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali reaffirmed TRENDS’ commitment to enhancing its AI-powered research efforts while continuing its global training programs in partnership with leading academic and research institutions. He emphasized the need for more research and training initiatives to empower the youth and enhance their role in sustainable development.

As part of its engagement in the World Government Summit, TRENDS also participated in the fourth edition of the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders, where Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali talked about the role of Arab youth in shaping a global impact. The meeting, organized by the Arab Youth Center in collaboration with the summit, was held under the theme “Made in the Arab World: Arab Identity, Global Impact” and was attended by Arab youth ministers and young leaders from all Arab countries.
