This paper purposefully and intentionally focuses on the future of education, coming from a position that it is unreasonable, unwise, and professionally foolish, as anyone who has tried to predict the future with any certainty. It is also a limiting factor to focus on one potential model or future, imposing an outcome without allowing for an organic development of the sector. Instead, what is discussed in the paper that follows is a broader visioning of the possible future for education globally, trends that may develop, and social and economic factors that will offer opportunity and innovation.
