TRENDS Global, part of TRENDS Group, participated in the 21st edition of the GLOBSEC Global Security Forum, held in the Czech capital, Prague, under the patronage of H.E. Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic. The forum is regarded as one of Europe’s leading strategic and security platforms.
TRENDS Global was represented at the forum by Abdulaziz Al Marzouqi, its Director of Global Offices. The event, held under the theme “The Global Systemic Transformation: 21st-Century Solutions to 21st-Century Challenges,” brought together more than 1,800 officials and specialists from approximately 75 countries.
Discussing Global Issues
The forum addressed European security and defense issues, the implications of the Russia–Ukraine war, and ways to strengthen Europe’s defense industrial capabilities. It also examined Middle East crises and the impact of the U.S.–Israel–Iran conflict on international shipping routes and global economic stability.
Forum sessions further focused on safeguarding energy security and supply chains, effective approaches to managing economic shocks, transitioning toward sustainable energy, and exploring the role of artificial intelligence in achieving digital sovereignty, as well as the importance of cybersecurity in maintaining national security and stability.

On the sidelines of the GLOBSEC Global Security Forum, Abdulaziz Al Marzouqi, Director of Global Offices at TRENDS Global, held a series of meetings and interactive discussions on avenues for research cooperation and knowledge partnerships with leaders of research institutions, think tanks, scientific academies, and intellectual organizations.
He met with H.E. Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to His Highness the President of the United Arab Emirates; H.E. Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council; H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade; H.E. Omran Sharaf, UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, and Kabir Taneja, Executive Director of the Middle East Office at the Observer Research Foundation.
He further reviewed mechanisms for research cooperation, scientific partnerships, and future knowledge exchange with Marek Matusiak, Project Coordinator at the Centre for Eastern Studies in Poland; Tobias Ellwood, national security and foreign policy specialist at the Royal United Services Institute; Jeff Alava, Director of Panterra’s Brussels Office; and Robert Vass, President of GLOBSEC, during the GLOBSEC Global Security Forum 2026 held in Prague, Czech Republic.
