Alya Al-Awadhi

Alya Alawadhi is an aspiring economics scholar and arts researcher with an interest in documenting and understanding the Arabian Gulf’s rich cultural legacy and fast-changing socioeconomic landscape. Alya, who is based in the UAE, has a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Art History from New York University Abu Dhabi. She is currently pursuing her passions as a full-time researcher at TRENDS Research & Advisory and as a freelance researcher at Videocity.bs.

In line with her divergent passions, Alya’s career trekked various industries, where she interned at the renowned international law firm, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, and an up-and-coming cultural engagement start-up, The Knot. Her professional career also includes ADQ’s newly launched digital bank, Wio. Through these experiences, Alya has gained a multi-faceted appreciation of how to be an effective communicator and a successful project manager.
