The TRENDS Office in Paris aims to achieve the following strategic objectives:
Strengthen academic ties between the Arab world and the Francophone milieu by fostering dynamic partnerships among research centers, universities, and intellectual institutions—particularly with France as a central hub for Francophone knowledge production.
Monitor and analyze intellectual output in the French language, especially in fields related to digital transformation, artificial intelligence, geopolitical shifts, and social and environmental challenges. This includes disseminating such knowledge—through translation or popularization—to Arabic-speaking audiences.
Promote Arab perspectives, analyses, and research on key regional and global issues to Francophone audiences—particularly policymakers, scholars, and journalists—in order to deconstruct stereotypes and enhance the intellectual visibility of the Arab world on the international stage.
Establish a sustainable platform for intellectual and cultural dialogue through joint symposia, bilingual publications, and collaborative initiatives. These efforts aim to collectively address contemporary challenges such as climate change and digital security.
Encourage the translation and circulation of innovative ideas and concepts between Arabic and French, by supporting ambitious publishing projects and translation programs. This approach fosters intercultural dialogue and promotes the mutual enrichment of knowledge across linguistic and cultural boundaries.
