TRENDS Research & Advisory, through its Virtual Office in France, is participating in the 2026 Paris International Book Festival as a Special Guest, from April 17 to 19 at the Grand Palais in the French capital, Paris. TRENDS will organize a series of high-profile events, in addition to launching several new books. It will also present more than 450 diverse research publications covering various economic, political, technological, and environmental fields.

Through its third participation in the Paris Book Festival, TRENDS, which is the first research institution from the Middle East to participate, aims to continue introducing its global research vision, build bridges of communication and engagement with others, and enhance cultural and knowledge exchange with research institutions, academic entities, and international think tanks. It also seeks to support constructive and purposeful dialogue through the meetings and discussions on the sidelines of the Festival.

A Special Participation

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, stated that TRENDS’ third participation in the Paris International Book Festival carries a special character, as it is participating as a Special Guest at France’s most prominent literary event, which for more than 30 years has brought together over 1,200 publishers and 4,500 authors to celebrate thinkers, writers, culture, and the global knowledge industry.

He noted that the participation aims to strengthen TRENDS’ position as a globally leading think tank in research, with special focus on supporting and advancing knowledge based on foresight. He explained that participation seeks to open further avenues of cooperation with academic and cultural institutions, thereby enhancing intellectual exchange and supporting purposeful knowledge.

Dr. Al-Ali added that participation reflects TRENDS’ standing and its ability to present intellectual and academic output that competes internationally. He pointed out that participation opens channels for dialogue between TRENDS researchers and their international counterparts, facilitates knowledge transfer to Europe, and helps correct stereotypes about academic research. It also demonstrates that think tanks can go beyond traditional boundaries and engage international audiences in robust scientific language, thereby strengthening societies’ confidence in their research outputs.

Numerous Activities

Rawdha Al-Marzouqi, Director of Distribution and Exhibitions Department at TRENDS Research & Advisory, emphasized that its third participation in the 2026 Paris International Book Festival is not merely a physical presence, but includes a full program of activities, dialogue seminars, and discussion sessions, in addition to the signing of several new publications in French. She explained that the participation demonstrates that TRENDS has become a research platform capable of contributing to shaping global awareness, supporting cultural diversity, and presenting insights that address shared issues between East and West.

She noted that the participation includes the launch of the French edition of the Muslim Brotherhood International Power Index 2025, as well as the organization of a panel discussion titled Islamism as a Security and Intellectual Challenge: A Comparative Reading of Arab, American, and European Approaches. It also includes the participation of Dr. Wael Saleh, Director of TRENDS Virtual Offices in France and Canada, in the symposium, Integration and Multiculturalism: Reality and Aspirations, organized by Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities.

Al-Marzouqi indicated that the TRENDS pavilion will feature more than 450 academic publications, including original and translated books, as well as a large collection of series in over 16 languages. These publications cover a wide range of international and regional interests, including economic and political research, international relations, energy and natural resources, and the latest releases of the TRENDS Encyclopedia on the Muslim Brotherhood.
