In alignment with the Year of Community and under the slogan Hand-in-Hand, TRENDS Research & Advisory, in collaboration with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, has launched the Al-Wathiqah (The Document) project. This innovative initiative aims to highlight UAE history through the voices of people of determination.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, praised the announcement by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, May God protect him, to dedicate 2025 as the Year of Community. He stated that this noble initiative reflects the leadership’s vision for building a cohesive and prosperous society and is designed to strengthen bonds, instil values of cooperation, belonging and shared experiences, as well as preserve cultural heritage.

Dr. Al-Ali added that the launch of the Al-Wathiqah series by TRENDS and the Zayed Higher Organization is a direct response to this esteemed initiative. It represents part of the third phase of the Zayed Higher Organization’s Hemam Mawhouba (Talented People of Determination) initiative and will feature 25 short episodes over three months. These episodes will spotlight key moments in UAE history, notable figures, and cultural landmarks with the aim of documenting and inspiring future generations to preserve our rich legacy.

He explained that the Al-Wathiqah project will enhance the role of people of determination in media and national documentation. It is a unique initiative aimed at showcasing historical milestones and Emirati personalities who shaped the nation’s identity.

H.E. Abdulla Al-Humaidan, Secretary General of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, commended the initiative announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, declaring 2025 as the Year of Community, under the theme “Hand in Hand”. The initiative aims to strengthen social cohesion and solidarity within the UAE.

He stated that designating 2025 as the Year of Community is a significant step toward enhancing the unity and well-being of the UAE’s community. He highlighted the importance of showcasing the role of People of Determination across various fields, particularly in culture and media, where they contribute to preserving and transmitting national heritage and history to future generations.

Al-Humaidan emphasized that the Al-Wathiqah series is not just a documentation project, but also a testament to the resolve of People of Determination to bring value to society. The series will highlight key historical milestones and influential Emirati figures who have shaped the nation’s identity, reflecting the rich heritage of UAE society, and underscoring the significant role of those figures in promoting national identity across various fields.

He further noted that launching this project in the Year of Community reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to empowering People of Determination and enabling them to contribute effectively to various areas. Al-Humaidan invited everyone to participate in and benefit from this pioneering project, which enhances cultural and historical awareness in our beloved country. This initiative strengthens the cohesion of the UAE society across its various segments. He expressed confidence that the series would inspire the community, encouraging greater appreciation for the unique diversity and capabilities that each individual, including People of Determination, brings to the community.

The project will cover a range of topics, including historical stories about the founding leaders, UAE cultural heritage, the development of Emirati literature, handicrafts, and key historical sites such as Al-Hosn Palace and Al-Jahili Fort.

The project will also include digital symposiums and public panel discussions to foster community interaction around the episodes, contributing to the development of people of determination and empowering them to reach their full potential.
