TRENDS Shines at Thessaloniki International Book Fair .. Attracting Media Coverage and Engaging with Prominent Greek Think Tanks

The TRENDS Research and Advisory stand at the 2024 Thessaloniki International Book Fair in Greece attracted numerous officials, writers, researchers, and the general public. Visitors explored dozens of titles from TRENDS’ diverse research publications, which analyze current issues and predict future trends. Panel discussions with several academic and research institutions explored prospects for joint collaboration to enhance knowledge and the role of scientific research in shaping the future.

       

H.E. Dr. Ali Obaid Al-Dhaheri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Greece, visited the stand. He addressed the TRENDS delegation, praising their active participation in the fair and their global research efforts, and emphasized the role of culture in international relations.

       

Other notable visitors included Sheikha Bodour Al-Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority, the Guest of Honor at the 2024 Thessaloniki International Book Fair, and H.E. Ahmed bin Rakkad Al-Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority.

       

TRENDS also hosted editors-in-chief from Al-Etihad, Al-Bayan, Al-Khaleej, and Gulf News newspapers, alongside various media professionals and academics. They all commended TRENDS’ diverse publications and research output, appreciating its significant contributions to knowledge and its active presence at international cultural events.

       

At the heart of the Thessaloniki International Book Fair, TRENDS held a coordination meeting with several strategic partners, including Dr. Hamad Al-Kaabi, CEO of Aletihad News Center, media professionals, and social media influencers. This meeting underscored the importance of collaboration and the integration of roles, highlighting the contributions of book fairs, think tanks, and media in promoting knowledge that is capable of shaping the future.

       

On the sidelines of the book fair, as part of TRENDS’ European research tour, the TRENDS delegation and researchers discussed with Dr. Maria Gavouneli, Director General of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), and Dr. Emmanuella Doussis, Director of the Master’s Program in Southeast European Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, prospects for mutual cooperation and the importance of scientific research in facilitating dialogue and promoting knowledge.
