Abdullah Al Hashemi, born on December 31, 1961, is a retired Major General Pilot from the UAE Air Force. Raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, he joined the UAE Air Force in 1980 and pursued several pilot training courses in the United States from 1981 to 1988. Over his career, Al Hashemi held various positions in the Air Force and was appointed as the Military Attaché of the UAE to Australia and New Zealand in 2008. In 2013, he returned to the UAE and served as the Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Defence until his retirement in 2020.
Al Hashemi is married and has five children. Alongside his military career, he is a writer for the UAE newspaper Al-Ittihad and has a passion for poetry and golf. Currently, he is the Vice-Chairman of the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF), a member of the Board of Directors of the UAE National Olympic Committee, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC).
