Advisor - Trends Global Sector
Stephen Scalet is a Scientific Advisor in the Global Sector of Trends Research & Advisory, where he provides policy-oriented insight and analysis related to the internal Trends Research portfolio of activities as well as to external entities on a project basis. His current work is focused on climate change adaptation and mitigation, the energy transition, the role of youth in national development, economic statecraft, and energy geopolitics. Prior to re-joining the think tank world with Trends Research, he was Head of Economics & Research at the Emirates National Oil Company, Deputy Director of Economic Affairs at the Executive Affairs Authority, and a researcher at a UAE think tank focused on economic development and national security issues. Mr. Scalet has an undergraduate degree from the London School of Economics and graduate degrees from the University of Oxford (Trinity College) and Harvard University.
