Given the growing need for early and reliable indicators of current and future developments in the MB’s international power, policymakers increasingly rely on qualitative studies to assess the movement’s trajectory.
However, such studies have proven to be of limited practical utility for decision-makers. Their findings are often dispersed across extensive narratives, with key insights embedded in lengthy analyses. Moreover, these studies vary widely in their analytical approaches, theoretical frameworks, and knowledge bases, complicating comparison and delaying timely and effective policy responses to the MB.
Against this backdrop, the primary objective of The Muslim Brotherhood International Power Index (MBIPI) is to provide clear, objective, and evidencebased answers regarding the MB’s capacity to achieve its objectives, impose its will, and anticipate its future trajectory.
MBIPI’s significance lies in its status as the first and only global initiative to offer a systematic and comparative measurement of MB power at the international level.
To achieve these objectives and present both the theoretical foundations and practical application of the Index, this study is structured into an introduction, seven chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction outlines the objectives, significance, and core pillars of MBIPI.
